External evaluation consultancy
- ceni has carried out more than 120 external
evaluations commissioned both by funding agencies and voluntary
sector organisations. This work has varied from smaller community-based
project evaluations to large scale funding programme evaluations.
Evaluations cover a range of themes including health and childcare,
community relations, community development, youth, community arts,
and education and training.
Training and support
service - Training and support
plays a vital role in developing the capacity of voluntary organisations
to effectively plan, manage and implement monitoring and evaluation.
Through a range of standard introductory training courses and
various customised options, ceni seeks to promote good
practice and develop knowledge and skills in all aspects of evaluation.
Information and Advice
- The Information & Advice Service aims to raise awareness
and to develop the capacity of groups which are less well resourced
within the voluntary/community sector. Support includes introductory
information and advice sessions, publications, ceni's
website and information library.
Research and policy development
- ceni seeks to influence the development of policy
on evaluation in the voluntary sector. This work is progressed
through research and development work into issues of strategic
relevance for evaluation, through policy comment and through the
promotion of dialogue between key players. See Research
